Pre-release Analysis — moveset, arena and drops are unpublished. The rolling attack is the only signature motion on record; everything else here is a labelled inference from a shared boss template.
The record holds one motion
A heavy build, two blades, and a roll. That is the entire published description of this enemy, and it is the only detail that separates it from a generic melee boss.
The roster labels it by that behaviour rather than by a name. Two pages list it as a pending boss entry, and one of them spells the label out in full: dual blades, rolling motion, heavy frame.
The boss label is genuinely open
| Question | Answer on record | Confidence |
|---|---|---|
| Is it a boss? | Info box says boss, roster says pending | unconfirmed |
| Health bar | Separate boss bar, shared boss template | verified |
| Combat range | melee | verified |
| Signature motion | rolling attack | verified |
| Arena | not announced | verified |
| Drops | not announced | verified |
| Move list | not announced | verified |
Two sources disagree, and neither is newer in a way that settles it. Treat the boss tag as unsettled, and a field encounter as possible.
That matters for planning. A field elite dies to the same guard break as a boss, but it does not carry a boss health bar or a boss-sized damage pool.
Rolling changes the geometry
A roll is committed movement. Once the enemy commits, it travels, and travel is the part you can plan around rather than react to.
Speculative — not confirmed: the roll carries the enemy past a side-step that starts too early. A dodge that ends where the roll began leaves you behind it instead of inside it.
Speculative — not confirmed: the roll recovers into a swing rather than a full stop. Watch the first two rolls and note where the blades end up.
Two blades also mean a wider swing arc than a single blade of the same length. Standing at the edge of the old arc is not safe.
Answering a committed roll
- Side-step late rather than early. Early movement gets caught by the travel.
- Punish on the recovery, not during the spin.
- Keep the parry answer ready; a rolling boss still runs the shared tell system.
- Hold one weapon swap for a broken guard. It refills Sha-Chi and clears the break.
The break is still the win condition
Rolling does not change the win condition. Empty the boss Sha-Chi bar, and the guard fails: no blocking, long stagger, extra damage taken.
Normal swings drain nothing from that bar. Sha-Chi attacks drain it, so the safe-looking string is often the slower kill.
Bait the roll, side-step late, land Sha-Chi attacks on the recovery, and repeat until the bar breaks.
What to do before launch
- Do not learn a phase count. None is published.
- Practise late side-steps on any rolling enemy you meet first. The timing carries over.
- Log where the blades finish each roll. Recovery position is the only punish cue.
- Keep the boss tag unconfirmed: a field elite and an arena fight are both possible.
