Character Profile
Ghost Hand, a mysterious physician renowned in the Phantom World, is known both for his extraordinary medical skill and for his uncanny methods of treatment. When Soul was framed by The Order, poisoned, and stripped of his martial arts, it was Ghost Hand who performed the forbidden “Poisoned-Heart art.” The art fights poison with poison: it restored Soul’s martial arts, yet it also planted a deadly toxin in his heart, leaving him only sixty-six short days to live.
Origins and History
Ghost Hand’s origins are a mystery; few know anything of his past. His extraordinary skill made his name across the Phantom World, but his cures tend to come with a heavy price. In Phantom Blade Zero, Ghost Hand performs the Poisoned-Heart art on Soul — a decision that changes not only Soul’s fate but the balance of power across the whole Phantom World.

The Poisoned-Heart Art
The Poisoned-Heart art is a forbidden medical technique of Ghost Hand’s own devising. It works by implanting a special toxin in the patient’s heart to awaken the body’s latent potential. The art can restore a patient’s martial arts and strength in an instant, but the cost is that their lifespan is cut drastically short. After receiving the Poisoned-Heart art, Soul must find an antidote within sixty-six days, or the poison will take his life.
