The Battle of Mirage took place in The Order’s thirtieth year, during its push into the south. Soul and Zuo Shang went deep into the Mirage and broke it apart, and the campaign made both their names.
Background
In The Order’s thirtieth year it began expanding into the southern Wulin. The Mirage, hidden in that region’s fog, inflicted heavy losses while keeping its real face hidden. Mu Tianmiao, The Order’s master, sent its two most capable young Nether Envoys — Soul and Zuo Shang — to find out what it was.
Course
The pair set out from Luoye Market and pushed into the fog of the southern Wulin, peeling the Mirage open a layer at a time. They fought through to Luocheng in the end and broke the core of its strength.
Outcome
The war ended in a victory for The Order, and Soul and Zuo Shang came out of it famous. The truth of it was considerably more tangled than the surface, though. Something deeper seems to sit behind the Mirage.
